Tokyo Olympics: These Are The Top Athletes Who Will Be Representing India

India is full-fledged ready to send her athletes to Tokyo Olympics this year. The event is going to be held from 23rd July to 8th August 2021. Also, The team will comprise of total 201 members. Meanwhile, it will include 126 athletes and 75 officials. There will be two flag beares for the inauguration ceremony. They are Mary Kom, an Excellent Boxer and Captain of India’s men’s hockey team Manpreet Singh. Also, for the closing ceremony, Wrestler Bajrang Punia will be the flag bearer. 

Tokyo Olympics was to be held in 2020. Due to the Pandemic for safeguarding the health of all the athletes, it was postponed. Meanwhile, the last Olympics was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Out of around 115 athletes, India won only two medals. Besides, this Olympics is going to be challenging for the host country. As it involves quarantining and other things regarding the pandemic. There will be no audience for this years Olymics. Due to the pandemic and safety issues, this year the games are going to take place without the spectators.

  • Archery: Tarundeep Rai, Atanu Das, and Pravin Jadhav – Individual and Team Recurve event Deepika Kumari – Women’s event
  • Badminton
    • P.V. Sindhu will be participating in Women’s single
    • Also, Sai Praneeth will be part of Men’s singles
    • Meanwhile Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be a team for Men’s Doubles
